Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been waiting in white knuckled anticipation for the opening of the Rivers Casino.  While the official opening date for the casino is more than three months off, there was buzz about the casino this week as the very first of what is to be many slot machines arrived for installation.

When Rivers Casino does finally open to the public it will have no problem standing apart from the rest of the casinos and slots parlors now operating in the state.  Rivers Casino will have the privilege of offering the first slot machine in the state that accepts wagers of op to $500.

Casino officials and Sanford Rivers of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board over saw the installation of 277 brand new slot machines at the Rivers Casino.  The first to be set up was a Mr. Cashman slot game.  Mr. Cashman is among the more popular slot machines in the United States.  More favorites are sure to come.

“We have been waiting a long time for this casino to be built, and it is nice to see that they are making progress,” said Joe Russo, a Pennsylvania resident.

“It will be even better when they finally open the casino for good.”

The grand opening for the Rivers Casino is scheduled for August 5th, 2009.  That does not leave casino officials a lot of time to put the finishing touches on the venue, but they anticipate finishing on time.  Since the recession, penny and two cent slot machines have become very popular at casinos.  Nearly half the slot machines are Rivers Casino will be of the penny and two cent variety.
