Bradley Picks Bone with Right
There is no doubt that the battle between those in support of legal online
casino in the United States and those against has been cranked up a notch after
Congressman Barney Frank introduced his legislation to regulate online casinos
last week. The legislation was the weapon that pro online casino advocates have
been waiting for. In response it seems the anti online gambling community has
increased the use of their secret weapon; lies and misleading comments about
online casinos.
Sherman Bradley, the gambling analyst from Online Casino Advisory, can see
through these misleading comments and has made it his duty to call out the
offenders. Most of the verbal assault against online casinos seems to be coming
from Citizenlink.com. Citizenlink.com is the website for the Focus on the
Family conservative Christian group; a group that has proven time and again that
when it comes to protesting online casinos they will not let small details like
fact get in the way.
Frank actually announced two pieces of legislation last week; the first
establishes a licensing process for online casino and Internet gambling sites,
the next put a freeze on compliance with the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act.
According to the Focus on the Family site, “The UIGEA requires financial
institutions to block payments to off-shore Internet gambling operations that
are not licensed to operate within the U.S.”
Sherman points out that they neglected to truthfully illuminate the Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement. First, the site’s definition of the law neglects
to explain that there are no online casinos currently licensed in the United
States. Their words suggest that only unregulated foreign sites are banned.
Second, they conveniently forget to mention how the ban has injured many state
lotteries.
