Overall, news this week for online casinos was
greatly positive; unfortunately the United States was once again left
out the celebration. Playtech and Cryptologic, two of the mega software
giants in online casinos, both made exciting announcements that are sure
to excite even the occasional visitor to online casinos. Good news for
online casinos that still accept wagers from American players was
somewhat lacking.
It appears that none of the online casinos catering
to players in the United States have paid out any jackpots of note this
week. Last week jackpots ranging between $20,000 and $40,000 were paid
out. This week is uncharacteristically quiet.
Typically, even on a slow week for jackpots, at least one poker jackpot
is paid out to the tune of a couple thousand dollars. However, the
spirit of many online gamblers goes undaunted. In some opinions the
lack of a significant pay out this week means that it is likely that a
massive win will be coming to some lucky player either this weekend or
in the next coming week. That would be remarkable.
It has been several days since a major jackpot was
hit, said Mike Walskey, an online player.
I'm hoping that means when I get back to my
computer this weekend that the jackpots will be ready to be cracked.
Although big jackpots have gone unseen this week at
online casinos accepting wagers from the United States, there have been
some big wins. Several online casinos powered by Vegas Technologies are
offering slot machine tournaments with a prize pool worth well over
$200,000.
