Casino.de has found its way into the history book of online casinos.  Balslev Media, the Danish Internet company, paid what is believed to be the highest price for a domain in the history of German online casinos.  Balslev Media acquired the domain name for $591,000. 

Jan Balslev, owner of Balslev Media and now Casino.de, said the domain was purchased at a discount, “The value of this particular domain consists of several things.”

“First, it’s the perfect brand name, it’s short, and it describes exactly what we do. Furthermore, many people will find our website even if they don’t know anything about us through direct traffic, which is acquired when people type in a keyword domain name in their browser and find a service provider without searching for it first. Finally, the high price indicates the popularity of online casinos and poker gambling on the Web.”
 
Balslev has clear goals for Casino.de.  The site will be used to navigate gamblers through the overwhelming amount in poker rooms and online casinos on the internet today.  It will be dedicated to independent research and providing as much information as possible about various online casinos.

The Danish webmaster also owns the very successful and well trafficked Online-casino.com.  Balslev says his ambition is to provide gamblers with ample opportunity to select online casinos based on sound and researched information.
 
“The last thing an online player needs is to be making an additional bet on whether the chosen gambling website is fair and pays its obligations," said Balslev.

“The lack of international regulation in the industry has created a real need for independent information, and Casino.de will be used to provide that to the player community.  As with all internet commerce, trust is essential.”
 
Casino.de is being built as a German language version of Online-casino.com, composed in the English language.  Both sites will now offer gambling tips, instructions, and free online casino game training.
