International Game Technology, one of the world’s leading
manufacturer of slot machines has made a change in it board of
directors. The newest member to the International Game Technology board
of directors is Phil Satre.
In some circles Phil Satre is better known as the former Harrah’s
Entertainment Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Due to his years as
an executive of one of the most successful brick and mortar casino
operators in the world, Satre has extensive experience in gaming. Now
Satre is no longer buying slot machines, his company sells slot
machines. Satre’s election to the board of directors was announced by
International Game Technology just yesterday.
Satre has quite an impressive résumé. He worked for Harrah’s
Entertainment for 25 years. 10 of those years were in the role of chief
executive officer. Satre finally retired from the casino operator in
2005. Now only 59, Satre is looking for other endeavors and his new
position with International Game Technology should prove demanding
enough.
There is nothing small time about International Game Technology. The
Reno-based company is the largest equipment manufacturer in the
industry. Many of the worlds top brick and mortar casinos buy their
slot machines from International Game Technology, as they make some of
the best slot machines on the market.
Only after receiving regulatory approval, will Satre officially join
the International Game Technology board. He is expected to serve
through the IGT March 3 annual share holders meeting. His election
requires him to serve through 2010. His name will be added to the slate
of directors expected to serve through that date.
