guy who follows the pack, trusting that what is told to him is 100%
true.
Instead, research the field on which you are playing ball. By
learning about the casino industry and what is happening to the
individual companies within the industry you'll be much better prepared

Processor in Trouble
Having a reliable online payment processor is very
important to gamblers that chose to wager at online casinos. Most online
casinos offer a long list of options when it comes to payment processing. There
are several payment processing options out their, many with great reputations.
However, one particular online payment processor is beginning to lose
credibility very quickly.

Not so long ago the most a player could do when
selecting a new online casinos was to research the casino, read a couple
of review, then hope for the best. Now, a few government has taken
consumer protection at online casinos very seriously and many online
casinos have been regulated by major countries on the world stage,
including the United Kingdom and members of the European Union.

Advantage of Online Casinos
If you choose to gamble at online casinos, be sure
you are taking full advantage of the convention. Online casinos have
been significantly out performing brick and mortar casinos. This is no
accident. One thing that online casinos apart from brick and mortar
casinos is the fact that they are relatively inexpensive to operate.
Most online casinos take the money they save and give it right back to
gamblers.

Big Slot Plans
The duality of slot machines is that while they
can certainly generate much needed income into a state, before they are
legalized they can certainly be a divisive issue. That is exactly what
New Hampshire is facing right now as they stand on the brink of serious
gambling expansion.

While it is generally true that brick and mortar gambling
establishments have suffered serious losses in revenue in month leading
up to and during the recession, it has not always proven true. Some
gambling venues are experiencing health business growth and are looking
to expand. Batavia Downs in New York is a prime example of a thriving

Impulsive Gambling
Impulses and gambling do not mix. We are not
talking about compulsive gambling although that is a very serious
problem that gamblers want to avoid if they can. We are talking about
the search for new online casino. There are hundreds of online casinos
on the Internet and many of them are honest business with a lot to
offer. The real difficulty is picking the online casino that is best
suited to your gambling needs.

Online casinos differ greatly from their brick and

As individual states in the United States examine ways of

refiguring prize methods and sales promotions. Lottery sales in the

Casinos are the Problem
Illinois may be legalizing online gambling. This is exciting news

gambling, usually by legalizing slot machines, to increase revenues for

outcome similar to that of Pennsylvania. Since Pennsylvania legalized
slot machine back in 2006 only eight of the fourteen approved slot
machine venues have opened and the state has already raked in $1.86

It seems that a part of the Kentucky culture is the

Racetracks in Kentucky, like racing industries all across the globe, are

much like Governor Steve Beshear’s attempt to seize the domain name of

Gambling
Always Dangerous
Arguments against the legalizing online casinos are perhaps as diverse as the
people that make the arguments. The bottom line as to whether one thinks online
casinos are dangerous or not, the industry is truly made less dangerous by
having some sort of regulatory body to protect consumers. However, some people
not only disagree with legalizing online casinos, they think gambling in general
is a dangerous activity.

Can't Make Them Happy
It seems that there is very little that can be done to appease the opponents
of online gambling. Many things have changed since Barney Frank attempted to

associated with today’s online casinos.

It is time for some slot machine education. Thanks to the Indian

Online casinos exist and they are not going

question.

Online
Casinos in Office Space
Online casinos allow access to full casino action
at any time anywhere. That is the perhaps the best feature about online
casinos and the reason that the online gambling industry has the brick

why online casinos have family centered groups sweating just as much.
The accessibility of online casinos allows those that do not have such a
healthy control over their gambling habits access to online casinos
during the most in appropriate hours of the day; at work for instance.

Regulation and Legislation
Perhaps the best out come for Internet gambling is
that online casinos are regulated on a federal basis but legalized on a

tough regulations in place to protect consumers from those online
casinos that are not completely on the up and up. However, within the
United States, there are quite a few state that do not believe gambling

Ohio legislators know one thing and one thing for sure; they need new

revenues are at an all time low in Ohio and the government needs a

The religious right has never been a friend to gambling, but they are
fighting with a particular fury against online casinos. Recently,

There is no doubt that the battle between those in support of legal online
casino in the United States and those against has been cranked up a notch after
Congressman Barney Frank introduced his legislation to regulate online casinos
last week. The legislation was the weapon that pro online casino advocates have
been waiting for. In response it seems the anti online gambling community has
increased the use of their secret weapon; lies and misleading comments about
online casinos.

Often times being a congressman can be a thankless job. Youbet.com

time around. Youbet.com, by far the largest legal pure play betting
site in the United States, took time out to make sure the Chairman of
the House Financial Services Committee new how much he was appreciated
for his role in protecting personal freedom. Congressman Frank’s bill
to regulate and legalize online casinos is more than just great news for
the Internet gambling industry, it represents a member of the government
going out on a limb to fight for rights to which he feels all American
citizens are entitled.

The United States may soon be able to separate

The wait is over and the promise has been fulfilled. Today,
Congressman Barney Frank, Chairman of the U.S House Financial Service

More Slot
Machines More Money
Casinos all across the United States are suffering
serious revenue losses. There are some that blame the current
recession, but brick and mortar casinos have been losing money for
months before the recession. Typically, the only portion of the gaming
industry that is making profits is online casinos. One slot machine

State Slots
Threaten Jobs
Minnesota, like many other states in the country, is considering slot
machines as a source of additional revenues that will help the state meet its
budget demands. It has been proposed that the state should allow Canterbury
Park and Running Aces horse racing tracks to operate slot machines. It comes as
no surprise that local gaming tribes do not want the tracks offering slot
machines and getting involved in the gaming business. Certainly there is some
element of the tribes protecting their corner of the gaming market but the tribe
also has reasons for opposing slot machines at state race tracks that will
affect the state as a whole.

Weathered Slot Machines
Slot machines come in all shapes and sizes and are themed after an
infinite number of subjects. There are at least two major reasons for
the diversity of slot machines, the first is that whether online or on
land, slot machines are the major money makers for most casinos. The
second reason is that studies have shown that most gamblers flock to
slot machines that carry a theme that resonates with them on sum
personal level. That being said, slot machines are as diverse as the
gamblers that love them.

All over the United States and the world, to be perfectly honest, the
horse racing industry is dwindling. In order to save horse racing many
politicians and venue owners are turning to slot machines. However, it

chose to pursue. When he saw horse racing revenues dropping of more and

rest of the Internet gambling industry.

revenue slot machines would bring in were based on those 15,000

Plans
Against Online Casinos
States attempting to ban
online casinos are running in to significant legal troubles. Not every
state is resorting to the same drastic measures as Kentucky. Kentucky
is in the middle of a legal battle to seize the domain name 141 online
casinos and internet gambling site because under Kentucky law the state
can seize illegal gambling device. A brilliant plan on the part of the
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, except he has been hard pressed to
reduce multibillion dollar, international companies like online casinos
to nothing more than a gambling device.

Faulty Opposition
There are at least two sides to every argument. Online casinos have
no doubt created a divide in the country, especially as signs point
toward regulation in the near future. Unfortunately for the dissenting
opinion, many of the loudest voices voicing their point of view are
coming from unfounded places. Professor John Kindt, Professor Earl
Gringols, and Reverend James Dobson, all opposed to regulating online
casinos, have been known to spout a few argument that are sometimes
little more than out and out lies.

Professor Doom on Online Casinos
With all the resistance to online gambling in the United States, one
would think that regulating online casinos might bring about the end of
the world. Well, it is clear that some gambling experts believe this to

Canada Hands

It appears that the United States is standing in the way of progress
for online casinos in more ways than initially thought. The ban on
online casinos in the United States may be the reason Canada is dragging
its feet to regulate the online gambling industry. The Canadian Gaming
Summit held in Ontario failed to make head way toward regulation
possibly due to the politics between the United States and Canada.

One of the arguments against online casinos is its vulnerability as a
tool to launder money. The Isle of Man is one of the biggest online

to the requirements of the Criminal Justice Code 2008.

Australia to

There are two major problems facing countries that allow gambling but
prohibit gambling at online casinos. The first problem is that it is

The United States does not have a clear point of view on online
casinos. That is the reason that gambling has always been a state
issue. Thankfully, Barney Frank intends to repeal the Unlawful Internet

Enforcement Act really has no place in the federal law books. Gambling,
whether at brick and mortar casinos or at online casinos, should be the
prerogative of the various state governments.

The Internet sweepstakes storefront operations in

Oh Barney, you tease. The gambling community across the world has

Representative Barney Frank, the chairman of the

States on the list of countries desperately fighting against the
inevitable tide of regulated online casinos. Norway is currently
proposing legislation that is horrifically similar to the American
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The law would forbid
financial institutions from processing transactions from online casinos
and Internet gambling sites that are not approved by the government.
This will essentially give the government owned Norske Tipping the
monopoly over online casinos in the country.
April 11,

Sign of the Times
Signs that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is on the chopping
block are now more obvious than ever. Although talk of Barney Frank introducing
legislation this month that will overturn the law is getting louder than ever,
that is not the tell tale sign that online casinos are about to etch a permanent
niche in the American gambling market. The recent actions of a major brick and
mortar gambling operator is the dead give away.

Crypto
Creep Up
CryptoLogic is emerging as one of the most successful software
companies in online casinos; it has certainly taken the title of most
innovative. CryptoLogic, once based out of Toronto is now publicly
traded on several different stock exchanges, including the Toronto Stock

MLB
Supports Sports Betting
Two teams in Major League Baseball have struck a
deal with very popular provider of online casinos and Internet gambling
entertainment. The match up is odd to say the least, as most
professional sporting leagues in the United States are lobbying against
online casinos. The American sporting leagues claim the regulating
online casinos in the United States runs the risk of endangering the
integrity of sports match ups.

Online
Casinos Called to Duty
CryptoLogic continues to give the United States
reasons to mourn our country’s backward approach to dealing with online
casinos. Once the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed
into law in October of 2006, several online casinos and software
providers fled the United States market in fear of prosecution.
CryptoLogic was one of those lost software providers. And though many
gamblers mourned the loss of CryptoLogic products back then, as the
years go by the company continues to renew the injury with its insanely
innovative product line.

US
Extortion
As if it were not bad enough that the United States passed
protectionist laws to weed out competition from off shore online
casinos, it now appears that some state governments in the United States
may be extorting money from online casinos with threats of prosecution.

Two
Sides of In Play Betting
Voices from all sides are coming out for and against Australian
allowing in play betting during professional sporting matches. The
fight led by the BetFair and the Australian Football League may prove to
be an uphill battle in a country notorious for attempting to band online
casinos. Not only that, Australia once grouped online casinos in with
child pornography as items detrimental to the public good.

In Play
Betting
Australia is not the friendliest country to online

Slots
Test Helps Community
It is not always easy for casino operators and
politicians to get communities to welcome slot machines into their
midst. So slot machines are always pitched by informing the community
how they stand to benefit from them. Often times governments promise
that a large potion of casino tax dollars will be contributed to schools
or college scholarships.

New Valley Forge Slot Machines
The competition for gamblers in the Northeastern
corridor of the United States continues. While some casinos in New

Rebirth of Coin Slot Machines
When it comes to slot machines, the past may very
well be the future of the industry. It has only been a little over five
years now since Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa debuted in Atlantic City as
the first coin free casino. After that, coin free slot machines swept
the nation until now more than 90 percent of slot machines on the
continent are coin free.

Death to Old Slot Machines
Atlantic City’s oldest casino is fighting for patrons that miss the

Internet gambling proponents may feel like Congressman Barney Frank is being

PartyGaming Loses Out
PartyGaming Plc was once a force to be reckoned with in online
casinos. Although they are still a highly successful provider of

the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act made it difficult for
online casinos to operate effectively in the United States.

Florida Has Options on the Table
It is a strange time for gambling in the United
States. The gambling industry is receiving an unprecedented amount of
new opportunities as local and federal governments seek to expand
gambling, often by bringing slot machines, to increase revenues. This
trend is likely due to the fact that gambling has always tended to
thrive in times of economic hardship. But no scene is more bizarre than
Florida. That is not an uncommon superlative for the Sunshine State,
but the best word for the sudden rash of new gambling legislation may be
‘crazy’.

Illegal Slot Machines Steal
Time
An illegal gambling operation recently busted up in
Orlando was either ingenious or insidious. Residents in the low income
area of Pine Hills were taken by a scam that stole both their time and
money. The operation was a mixture of online gambling, wagering at slot
machines, and buying into a sweepstakes.
March 31,

Gambling Balancing Act
The Florida Senate predicted that revenues from slot machines and
gambling would bring the state over $1 billion. This does not seem to
be the case. The number seems to be more like $400 million. This new

the Seminoles take the state up on a deal that would allow them to
monopolize slot machines everywhere in the state, except in Broward and
Miami-Dade county.

Video lottery terminals in Alberta, Canada have been capped at 6,000

government of Alberta has a loyalty to slot machines.

lottery terminals has remained capped at 6,000.

Gambling
Against Online Casinos
The versatility and profitability of online casinos
has repeatedly proven that it is the undeniable future of gambling, not

development that individual states are now acting independent of the
federal government to regulate online casinos and other forms of
Internet gambling.

It is the start of a new week. Hopefully it means

States. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened
during the month of March.

Basics
Many feel that at this point, with building
pressure from the recession and international trade partners, it is no
longer a matter of if online casinos will be regulated its more a

particular regulations will be imposed on licensed online casinos. Even
matters that seem to have an obvious answer may be a little tricky when
dealing with the international Internet gambling community.

Florida’s Seminole Indian Tribe has a very interesting offer on the

Seminole Slot Monopoly
It has long been said that slot machines are the real money makers at

tribe would gain exclusive rights to large payout slot machines across
the state if only they are willing to give up casino table games.

Studies indicate that young people
are experimenting with gambling from an earlier age. One Canadian study
idicated that roughly 79 percent of children between the seventh and

UIGEA Big Trick
The biggest success of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act
over the past two years has been its ability to make both gamblers and
online casinos alike think that Internet gambling is illegal in the
United States. It should be stated, beyond a shadow of a doubt that the
Unlwaful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 did not outlaw online
casinos in the United States. The purpose of the law is to make
financial transactions between online casinos and American gamblers
incredibly difficult by outlawing popular payment methods.

How Slot
Machines Malfunction
Slot machines started off as very simple gaming devices, but now it
seems like individual slot machines have more lights and electronics

complicated electronics, it is not surprising that a slot machine will
malfunction, alerting a player that he is now a multimillionaire; as was
the unfortunate case of an Ontario man this week.

Overall, news this week for online casinos was
greatly positive; unfortunately the United States was once again left

Unchristian-like Conduct
Online casinos are under attack in the United
States, again; big surprises. Most of the country has been moved to
support the idea of regulating online casinos, giving individual
citizens their constitutional right to choose how to spend there money
and enjoy their pastime. As this is the United States there are groups
that opposed the regulation of online casinos. Unfortunately these
groups have resorted to spreading unfounded myths about the social ills
that would be caused by legalizing and regulating online casinos in the
United States.

Kentucky Slot Machines
The hypocrisy in Kentucky apparently knows no

with outside competition and will do anything to preserves its own, such
as horse racing and now slot machines.

According to Commissioner Thomas M. Zaino Ohio
racetracks will not have to seek a statewide referendum in order to

former tax commissioner who currently serves on the Ohio Racing
Commission, believes no referendum is necessary as long as the
state legislature passes a law and either the Ohio Racing
Commission or the Ohio Lottery Commission regulates the slot
machines.

Easy for Ohio
A former Ohio tax commissioner who currently sits

referendum will not be necessary to legalize slot machines in the state
of Ohio.

Future is Now
To say that online casinos are the next big thing
seems to be speaking in the past or, perhaps worst, living in the past.
That seems to be where the United States government is most comfortable
these days, one step behind. Recently online casinos and the Internet
gambling industry generated revenue well above the $20 billion mark. If
it was not clear before that such a powerful industry need regulation

Some may describe the efforts of the Bush

New
Jersey to Regulate
The nation may not have to wait for a Congress to
regulate online casinos. While Barney Frank is doing his best to repeal
the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, states may take the
matter into their own hands. The precedent in the United States is that
gambling is a state issue, not to be federally regulated. With that in
mind California is already actively pursuing the legalization and

step further. A gaming expert has put forth the idea of licensing
online casinos within the state.

While promotions and bonus may be the key draw to many online
casinos, security seems to be what makes patrons stay with online

money and personal information remains safe while doing business online.

Protectionism
Bigger Than Online Casinos
The controversy involving the United States and online casinos has
ramifications well beyond Internet gambling. As the economy continues
to slow down and no clear sign of recovery is yet evident, workers in
the United Kingdom are seeking service jobs on the Internet. Bans on
online casinos just seem to be one symptom of the protectionist disease
that has spread across the globe when it comes to the online sector.
The European Union is trying desperately to fight these policies with
its trade partners.

Online Casinos Smart Business
In many countries across the globe online casinos

Electronic bingo machines at charitable bingo parlors are being

Branding is everything. A basic rule of marketing
is to establish a trust with consumers so strong that product with you

theory to the test and passed with flying colors. That is the only way
to explain the success of the eBay slot machines that have emerged in
United States casinos.

Utah for
State Rights
Utah is not exactly for online casinos but it is certainly against
the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Although most forms of
gambling in the state have been outlawed, state legislators do not like
the idea that the federal government has any say in their relationship
to gambling after all, states like Nevada and New Jersey have adopted
gambling as a center piece of their economy. It seems unfair that an
option like online casinos should be completely of the table.

Online
Casinos on the World Stage
Part of the reason online casinos is such
a big national issue is because it is a huge international
issue. The United States was once the world’s largest
market for online casinos until the black day in October 2006
when the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed.
That law severely damaged the online casino industry for a while
and received the attention of the world stage.

Escalation in Northeast
This past November, Maryland voters approved a referendum to permit
slot machines in the state. According to legislative analysts, slot
machines are expected to generate $1.36 billion in revenues by 2013.

enough, none of the revenues from slot machines are earmarked
specifically to mend the projected $2 billion budget deficit for the

Big time brick and mortar casino operators show why online casinos

Sneaks Slot Machines
Slot machines have become a necessity for almost
all gambling establishments. Many raceways, especially horse racing
tracks have installed slot machines just as a way to pay the bills.
Slot machines give gamblers a reason to come to the track when there are
not any big races at hand. When there are big races, revenues from slot
machines have been used to sweeten the purse to attract more big name
horse teams.

Something has changed significantly in Elora, Ontario. Seven years

the community and led to a legal battle in the Superior Court and the
Ontario Municipal Board. Now, in 2008, placing additional slot machines
in the raceway in Elora was only enough of an issue to draw 12 people to

The United States, in what many see as a failed effort to implement the
