Gambling online is not completely illegal.  The UIGEA, though aimed at ruining online casinos, still has a few loopholes that allow player to still gamble legally.  The fact that the internet is global in design, it is impossible for US laws to stretch to all online casinos.  The UIGEA only made it illegal for financial institutions to process transactions from online casinos and gambling sites.

That means, as long as a player can make a deposit at an online casino that accepts US players, then it is completely legal to gamble at the site.  In truth, it is getting harder and harder to fund accounts.  The new blog sites hope to be a guiding light in the search.
