It makes so little sense and it infuriates me that the richest country on Earth and the richest empire in the history of the world has not yet worked universal health care. Several countries far less stable than us have universal health care and statistics show they are healthier people than the standard American. The problem is that there are so many stupid people in this country that think universal health care will mean a reduction in the quality of health care offered. They buy into the fear mongering of the wealthy and the conservative that what to keep the middle class as far away from equality as possible.
The question always comes up as to how the nation is going to fund a universal health care system. American people see all these billions and trillions of dollars of debt without necessarily knowing how money between governments work. The fact remains that we are still far wealthier than any country on this planet and some second world countries have better health care than us.
Here is a solution to the money problem: slot machines. State after state has been using slot machine revenue to fund one government project after another. How about using that money to make a real difference? Since the federal government cannot sack up and sponsor universal health care it can be done on a state to state basis, until it every state has some form of universal health care. From there the federal government may be able to uniform it. Or maybe it is just best they stay out of it.
